I hope that my assumption about this game is wrong. But I am really feeling like it’s going to suck. There is no new information being given about the game. It’s the same six details that we’ve already heard several times. At this point, I can only assume the content deprivation is because the game sucks and they don’t want to reveal anymore details so people will still buy.

Remember when Dragon Age let you play a blood mage, and everyone was racist towards elves, templars were drug addicts who lobotomised mages they didn't trust, and dwarves were backstabbing politicians who sold out their own kin while their women got kidnapped by darkspawn to be graped and turned into broodmothers, and you could pour dragon blood into the ashes of Andraste and commit heresy, and you could help the werewolves kill all the elves, and the main ending was to become an hero in order to win? Remember when Dragon Age was hardcore and not a little bitch franchise for 4-year-olds? I do.

The music when the urban character enters the scene reminds me of Japanese folklore and tradition. Dunno why, but there you go. They probably had urban people, too, over there.

I don't have a problem with the twists and turns of the story, but much more with the gameplay. For a long time, I didn't understand why you couldn't lead the whole team into battle. Because the main character is so tough that he grinds down the entire enemy army with a few companions? I think this is bullshit. We are recruiting them precisely because we need them in the coming battles. In the older parts, it was forgivable that the technology was not there yet. And now what do we get? We can't even take as many companions with us as we used to. I think this is a step backwards and I hope they don't make this mistake in the next part of Mass Effect. After all, even there, it would have been possible to assemble an effective squad from the old companions. There were muscular people on the front line, strong in stealth characters for scouting, snipers for cover, technical geniuses for hacking or repair. I even had a doctor among them in case someone was injured. With a couple of strategic formations, it could be quite a good little game. I really hope that in Mass Effect they will not follow the path of Dragon Age with the gameplay.

I think a lot of people missed some of the small jokes in this video, like the griffon going "arf arf" or the tentacle monster shouting "GET OVER HERE" like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

I was always surprised how DAI was basically an leftist encyclopedia in terms of companions and characters. -A gae tevinter mage. Who was sufficiently stereotypical at least, but also had some explanatory background. These are, at their core, just mental people, after all. -Same goes to le-bo elven thief. She was the definition of a c-word. The actual c-word, not what Butcher from The Boys is using as a slang. But her c-wordness also makes sense. That's a female who can't get D. They ain't healthy, they can't be healthy. -A black sorceress politician. Who was perfectly French to a T. To the point that you could actually, for a moment, look beyond the skin color. Because the CONTEXT was much more important. -A qunari bi. Who may seem like the manliest, butchest bastard. But, of course, nowadays being manly is grossly misrepresented and so he has to be "man enough" for other men as well. Even though that breaks the ENTIRE concept of manhood. Like the ENTIRE concept, on ALL levels. But, again, they nailed a character that was a part of a vast majority of players' parties, because as a person - he was just hilarious. -A spirit. Who, clearly, would be the totally "they" by modern standards. But I don't think it was rude to call Cole a "he". Then again, I wasn't in the community. -A trans girl. Who just happened to be two teats short with a face that could crack sunflower seeds. Who definitely lacked the c-word to be that elven thief. But had some courage and desire to be a part of something, unlike the elven c-word. Forced, but reasonable. A person you could at least feel sorry for, or some respect. But all of that was packed with good writing, atmosphere, music, gameplay, worldbuilding... bad pacing, perhaps, but otherwise a solid game. So I thought... well, okay, I guess if they have to take the "takes all kinds" stance - I'm fine with such "encyclopedic" stereotypical approach, where at least every medical "case" is explained. And now, when asians are involved, when ANOTHER franchise goes black elf(and that shit is disgusting in LotR and Witcher), when it's not just a medical case of LGBT, those four letters that at least USED TO MEAN SOMETHING, but a passport line for "I am a degenerate"... that is - anyone who has "they" as their pronoun... That's no longer Dragon Age. P.S.: If someone is butthurt from my perspective on "black elves" - there are shades of white. Oh yes. And elves were based on a very particular shade of white that was neither slavic\caucasian nor uglysaxon. So my question is - why does every shade of black have to be a ni. And I am racist enough to know that there ARE shades of black. Gotta know thy enemy. That French sorceress from DAI was definitely not a ni. But this "pubic haircut" guy definitely looks "ni". Probably another one who'll cosplay Legolas. P.P.S.: I can't recall a single asian in DA. And the closest to a hispanic\beige\mixed person was... that pirate girl from DA2. I assume that, in theory, they could shoehorn asians into DA, but why elves? Why does everyone want to be the master race? Even though asians are an elder and master race - the elves were not based on them. And changing that canon requires work. Besides, the craziest veil-related character so far was... Solas. The freaking elder god. And now some asian elf is veiljumping from eldritch horrors for fun? Shit like that requires ESTABLISHMENT. Not a random trailer mashup.

It looks like we kicked a hornet's nest on this one folks! TL;DR: It doesn't matter what you look like or who and how you love - all that matters is what you do and the spirit in which you do it. Choose Love over Fear every time Amigos! ----------- As long time fans of the Dragon age series (yes, even Inquisition) we were really looking forward to Dreadwolf. Maybe you haven't played the games and are wondering how such a shiny, happy trailer could get us all butthurt? Well, it's because the world of Dragon Age is super dark and literally ending - blights and breaches have torn it apart and it's always been up to us, the player, to salvage what little good is left using only the bleak cards we have been dealt. In the Reveal Trailer, everyone is having a laugh and it appears if they could just assemble the perfect combination of "different" people that in itself would solve the problem. This isn't the solution to any problems in the world of Dragon Age or the Real World. It only works if the problem is making your Corporation look like it cares about warm hearted people instead of just cold hard cash. Scrolling down through the comments you're likely to find some foul language and strong opinions and that's ok... What isn't ok is Corporations weaponizing inclusion just to sell titles - because that provokes a culture war that delays the realization of actual equity in the real world. What isn't ok is altwhite fellas calling for exclusion of characters based on their appearance - because that's racism. What isn't ok is pro-DEI folks calling everyone who doesn't agree with them 100% a bigot - because that's predjudice. It does not matter what your characters look like or feel *outside* of the game-loop - that's just the surface. What do they actually do? What matters most is a satisfying storyline and an entertaining game-loop that doesn't simply funnel you towards a fomo-or-microtransaction crossroads. And we'll die on that hill if we must...

Gonna have to wait for mod support to actually make any of these characters attractive.
